OUR REVIEW ON DUMPLING DARLINGS SINGAPORE
I recently discovered Dumpling Darlings tucked away in a Telok Ayer shophouse, and stepping inside felt like walking into an intimate, buzzing dumpling bar. I opted for their Dumpling Party platter—five different flavours (Original, Veggie Mandu, Momo Curry, Smoked Duck, and Fried Pierogi)—and each dumpling was handmade fresh daily. The highlight for me was the Smoked Duck: succulent duck wrapped in a delicate skin, paired with a tangy balsamic glaze and peppery arugula. The Fried Pierogi was a delightful surprise: a light, crisp exterior gave way to a rich mash of smoked bacon, truffle potato, and cheddar, all balanced by a playful sriracha cream. Even the Original dumplings were comforting embodiments of classic Shanghai-style pork and cabbage—simple yet satisfying.
To complement the dumplings, I added a bowl of their Braised Pork Noodles and a refreshing Passion Fruit Ginger Soda from their lunch set. The noodles were springy and al dente, with rich porky broth that felt like a warm hug on a busy weekday. The soda’s zingy ginger and tangy passion fruit was a perfect counterpoint to the heavier flavours . I couldn’t resist finishing off with their dessert dumplings—pear and cream-cheese filled parcels drizzled with honey ice cream—balanced sweet and creamy with an unexpectedly luscious texture. Cozy lighting, friendly service, and consistent quality made the intimate space feel welcoming despite being packed.
