I recently dined at DubuYo in Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur, drawn by its reputation for Halal-certified Korean cuisine. Opting for the Dol Sot Bibimbap with chicken, I was pleased with the presentation and the generous portion of marinated chicken, vegetables, and a perfectly cooked egg atop warm rice. The stone pot kept the dish hot throughout the meal, and the accompanying kimchi added a tangy contrast that balanced the flavors well. Additionally, the Soondubu Jigae offered a comforting blend of soft tofu, seafood, and a mildly spicy broth, making it a satisfying choice for those seeking a hearty meal.
However, the dining experience was marred by service issues. Upon arrival, we had to seat ourselves as staff were not immediately available to assist. Once seated, it took considerable effort to get the attention of the lone waitress, who appeared overwhelmed managing the entire restaurant . Despite these challenges, the affordability and variety of the menu make DubuYo a viable option for casual dining, especially for those craving Korean flavors in a Halal-friendly setting.
