OUR REVIEW ON DOZO MALAYSIA
I recently visited the Dozo outlet in Ara Damansara and was pleasantly surprised by how polished and accessible the experience felt for a Japanese chain. The ambiance is clean and well-organized, with plenty of neatly spaced seating that makes it ideal for both solo meals and casual dining with friends. What caught my attention first was how visibly fresh the sushi and sashimi looked—every piece looked carefully crafted with generous cuts, especially noticeable in the sashimi moriawase set I had alongside crispy tempura and a comforting miso soup with silky tofu jelly to finish off the selection.
For mains, I opted for the Tori Teriyaki Bento, which featured juicy grilled chicken glazed with a sweet-savory sauce—paired nicely with tamagoyaki and steamed veggies—clean and hearty, without being overly rich. I also tried the Sake Teriyaki Bento (grilled salmon), which was impressively tender and well-seasoned. Another standout was the Dragon Maki roll: a jumbo prawn and avocado roll topped with eel sauce and tempura flakes that packed in textures and flavour effortlessly. While the menu is extensive, offering everything from ramen to rice bowls, I appreciated that the quality remained consistent across the range—even for popular items like Katsu Don curry, beef sukiyaki, and tonkotsu ramen.

The unagi and grilled salmon bento sets felt especially worth it in portion and flavor profile.
