OUR REVIEW ON CLOUDSTREET SINGAPORE

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cloudstreet—Chef Rishi Naleendra’s modern Australian‑Sri Lankan fine‑dining concept tucked into a sleek, two‑storey Amoy Street shophouse—and it was undeniably memorable. From the outset, the minimalist ambiance—emerald tiles, open kitchen, intimate counter seating—felt elegant yet welcoming. The meal kicked off with a stunning bread course: Singapore Stout & Licorice Bread that reviewers unanimously praised as “the best bread I’ve eaten”, accompanied by whipped butter so decadent it was hard to resist. Every dish that followed, whether it was the beetroot‑goat cheese starter or the beautifully smoked Japanese tomatoes with burrata, showcased meticulous flavours and balance.

The tasting menu was elevated without straying into excess. Dishes like the delicately grilled Western Australian marron in Sri Lankan yellow curry and a tender roasted quail topped with chestnut purée and red‑wine jus hit all the right notes. Service matched the food’s precision—attentive, knowledgeable, and polished—as we were led upstairs after the savoury courses for a perfectly paced dessert lounge, complete with aromatic non‑alcoholic pairings and pastry creations from award‑winning head chef Maira Yeo. A Redditor did note some desert courses “paled” compared to the savory ones, but praised the service and experience overall . At its heart, Cloudstreet is more than just a meal—it’s a beautifully choreographed journey that blends personal narrative, flavour innovation, and refined execution into a dining experience well worth exploring.
