OUR REVIEW ON PENTO’S & BASIL MALAYSIA
I recently visited Pento’s & Basil in Bukit Jalil’s Aurora Place and was pleasantly surprised by the charming blend of cozy ambiance and Italian flair. From the moment I walked in, the warm lighting and understated décor made it feel intimate—even in its bustling mall setting. I started with their Mushroom Soup during the value lunch set (around RM25 nett), and though it was fairly standard, it set a nice tone. For mains, I had the gnocchi in Gorgonzola cream—creamy, indulgent, and rich with flavor—and the risotto packed with wild mushrooms, Parmesan, and peas, both hearty and deeply comforting. The truffle bread deserves a special mention too: soft, fluffy, and richly fragrant—its aroma lingered even after I left.
That said, my experience wasn’t flawless. While most of the dishes delivered on flavor, a few items underwhelmed—one reviewer mentioned that their grilled chicken accompanying a pasta was not only mushy but dangerously undercooked, leading to a refund after a brief and awkward exchange with staff.
